Customised gearbox solutions for advanced X-ray systems

Benefits
High precision and low backlash
The gearboxes provide the precise and controlled movements required in advanced X-ray equipment, with a strong focus on accuracy, low backlash and consistent performance.
Customised to the application
Gearbox configurations are adapted to NRT’s specific requirements with solutions such as special side flanges, increased gear ratios, extended or dual output shafts and complete gearmotor assemblies.
Long-term technical partnership
More than four decades of collaboration provide a strong foundation for solving technical challenges quickly and developing gearbox solutions that support the requirements of NRT’s medical equipment.

Company profile
NRT X-RAY is a Danish manufacturer of advanced X-ray systems for hospitals and healthcare providers worldwide.
The company develops and manufactures specialised medical imaging equipment, including X-ray systems for applications that require precise and controlled positioning. NRT combines in-house development and production with specialised technology to compete in the international medical imaging market.
Problem Statement
Medical X-ray equipment places demanding requirements on the components responsible for positioning and movement. Gearboxes must provide precise and repeatable motion while meeting the high standards associated with medical equipment.
For NRT, standard gearbox configurations could not always provide the exact combination of mechanical interfaces, gear ratios, shaft configurations and performance required for the different movements in its X-ray systems.
NRT therefore needed a gearbox supplier capable of adapting proven gearbox technology to the specific requirements of each application.
Solution
BJ-Gear developed customised gearbox configurations based on the requirements of NRT’s X-ray systems.
For the Celex system, several different BJ-Gear gearboxes are used. Depending on the application, the gearboxes have been adapted with special side flanges, increased gear ratios, extended or dual output shafts and complete assemblies. Several configurations are also supplied with motors.
BJ-Gear gearboxes are also used for positioning movements in NRT’s RSA equipment, including movement of the patient table and telescopes.
The combination of adaptable gearbox designs, precision manufacturing and close technical cooperation enables NRT to integrate transmission solutions tailored to the mechanical and performance requirements of its medical equipment.

“We are pleased with the collaboration with BJ-Gear A/S. BJ-Gear is very responsive and if there are any technical challenges, they take it seriously and are quick and effective to problem solving. This means that we can deliver top quality products and the best service without delays”
