Description

The Stieber ASNU 40mm is a robust roller-type freewheel without internal bearing support. Designed to be used with external bearings, lubrication, and sealing, this unit is suited for applications requiring overrunning, indexing, or backstopping functions in compact mechanical assemblies.
With a shaft interface of Ø40 mm, the ASNU 40mm model supports overrunning speeds up to 1100 RPM and peak application speeds up to 1700 RPM. It transmits a maximum torque of 538 Nm and has a drag torque of 38 Nm. The inner race is keyed to the shaft for secure torque transmission, while the outer race is designed to press-fit into H7 housings using an n6 tolerance. Additional notches on the outer ring allow positive torque transmission unless a K6 tolerance housing is used with sufficient rigidity.
The outer diameter matches that of standard 63-series ball bearings, enabling space-efficient integration with bearing supports in shared housing tolerances. It allows axial misalignment of ± S/2 between races, making it versatile for dynamic installations.
