Description

The Stieber ASK 40mm freewheel is a compact, bearing-supported roller-type unit designed for Ø40 mm shafts. It is equipped with two rows of internal roller bearings and delivered as a sealed, grease-lubricated, and dust-protected assembly. With a maximum torque capacity of 72 Nm and a drag torque of 15 Nm, this model is suitable for overrunning, indexing, or backstop applications in demanding environments.
Torque transmission is achieved through a press fit on both the inner and outer race. The freewheel’s nominal external dimensions match those of a 60-series radial bearing, enabling straightforward integration into standard bearing housings. Due to the interference fit on both races, the unit is manufactured with a C4 radial clearance.
Mounting requirements specify a shaft tolerance of h6 or j6, and a housing bore tolerance of K6. The design does not allow axial loads; external thrust bearings must be incorporated if axial forces are present.
