The Stieber AS 40mm freewheel is a non-bearing-supported, roller-type unit designed for Ø40 mm shafts. It handles clutch overrunning speeds of up to 1200 rpm on the inner race and 1800 rpm on the outer race, providing reliable performance in demanding mechanical systems. The unit delivers a maximum torque of 185 Nm and a drag torque of 10 Nm.

Designed with outer dimensions equivalent to standard 62-series ball bearings, it is mechanically compatible with widely used configurations. The inner race is keyed to the shaft, and the outer race is press-fitted into an H7 housing using R6 tolerance, requiring the housing to maintain dimensional rigidity.

The AS series must be externally lubricated with oil and externally sealed, with axial and radial loads supported by separate bearings. It allows axial misalignment of up to ±S/2, enhancing flexibility in integration with complex drivetrains.
