Spidex Elastic Coupling

Spidex elastic couplings are designed to reduce the impact of short-term torsional shocks by briefly absorbing some of the shock energy. This helps minimize any uneven movement and improves torque transmission. These couplings also reduce body resonance, leading to quieter operation. The elastic design of the SPIDEX® coupling ensures torque transmission without the risk of breakdowns or backlash.

The SPIDEX® coupling features a convex, profiled tooth crown that allows it to compensate for radial and angular misalignments between the connected shafts. Made from a high-quality thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer, it is durable, resistant to abrasion, oils, greases, solvents, ozone, and atmospheric effects. It also performs well in tropical conditions, thanks to its resistance to hydrolysis.



Key Features

  • Temperature Range: Operates between -40°C and +100°C, with short peaks up to +120°C. For temperatures above +100°C, please contact us for more information.
  • Hardness: Standard spider hardness is 92° Shore A. For higher torques, versions with 95° to 98° Shore A are available. For very high torques, a 64° Shore D spider is used.
  • Progressive Torsion Curve: The convex tooth design becomes progressively stiffer as torque increases, creating a dynamic, smooth torsion curve.
  • Resonance Suppression: Helps suppress resonance by adjusting torsional stiffness according to load conditions.
